With half term coming up we have been investigating all the great things on offer in the local area for our little guests...

There are actually a whole host of brilliant things to do in the local area which will keep the kids busy so that you can rest assured they will sleep well at night so you can enjoy a well deserved glass of wine by our cosy fire! Here are some ideas of things to do in our local area...

Pulborough Brooks RSPB

As always Pulborough Brooks thinks of the little ones during the school holidays. They have some great things to keep the children amused both during the half term Easter and at weekends - Thank you Pulborough Brooks! Here a a list of the upcoming child friendly events:

Pulborough Brooks RSPB

Sussex Treasure Trails:

Situated in Horsham/Worthing/Steyning/Brighton and suitable for all ages. A Treasure Trail is a fun and healthy way to explore Sussex.
With family or friends (or both) you can find the hidden treasure, solve a murder mystery, or crack the spy code.
Trails vary between 1.0 and 2.5 miles and take between one and a half and two and a half hours to complete.
Whether you are local or visiting for the first time, Sussex is a fantastic place to explore with a wide variety of interesting locations; from busy seaside resorts to historic market towns or pretty villages nestling at the foot of the South Downs, there's a wide variety for you to choose from.
Trails are done whenever you choose and at your own pace, and at only £6.99 each, its affordable fun. Trails can either be downloaded or sent to you in the post or to someone else as a gift. You may even choose to personalise a Trail as a special present.

Go Ape! Tree Top Junior Adventure

Situated in Crawley and Portsmouth and for ages 6 - 12. Release your little monkeys onto a Go Ape course designed for them. No one loves adventure more than kids! If you’re looking for outdoor activities for children, then Go Ape’s got the answer. Fun filled days out of canopy exploring, trail blazing and obstacles for all to enjoy. You’ll negotiate crossings and finish on a high (literally) with one awesome zip wire. Tree Top Junior is a great adventure experience for explorers from 6 years (over 1m) to 106 years and is for all abilities!

Arundel Wetlands

Situated in our neighboring town of Arundel and suitable for all ages. Surrounded by ancient woodlands, deep in the Sussex Downs, overlooked by Arundel Castle, a series of naturalised lakes, ponds and channels each offer wetlands habitats for wildlife and wildfowl from around the world.

Cherry Lane/Creasys Drive/Millpond/Waterlea Adventure Park Playground 

Situated in Crawley and suitable for under 18's. Cherry Lane Adventure Playground with a Wild West Town theme offers indoor and outdoor facilities, parents seating, picnic area, refreshments, sports, pool, and art and craft.
Outside there are huge play structures that offer the opportunity to climb, swing, hang, jump, spin, slide, dig and bounce to your heart's content. It's a great place for families with children of varying ages - there is something for everyone!
They also have a programme of daily events which include fun days, inflatable fun, specialised craft sessions, football sessions and so much more. Please note that registration is required for this activity.

Butlins

Situated in Bognor Regis and suitable for all Ages, Butlins Bognor Regis will be open from 18th February (just in time for half term :-)) and includes Splash Waterworld, the Skyline Pavillion packed full of live entertainment including Bob the Builder and his team, go-karts, crazy golf and a recording studio: there's loads for the whole family to enjoy.
New features include which tech wonder with the Discovery Studio, Character Theatre live performances from kids' favorites, plus the Fairground with classic rides, entertainment and sideshows.

High Sports

Situated in Midhurst/Crawley suitable for children aged 4+. Whether you are an experienced climber or looking to get started, High Sports will have a session that is just right for you. Catering for juniors starting from age 4, teens, adults and families.
Some sessions, such as the Beginner Courses and Junior Clubs are designed to teach you skills that will help you become an independent climber. Others, like their hugely popular Birthday Parties, are just for fun, and will give you a great taste of what climbing is all about.

Fishbourne Roman Palace

Located in Chichester and suitable for all ages. Explore the remains of the largest Roman domestic building in northern Europe, admiring our famous collection of in situ Roman mosaics and Britain’s earliest formal garden. Daily guided tours give visitors the chance to imagine what the Palace was like in its heyday and how it was eventually destroyed. See what life was like at the Palace in our museum or take a look behind the scenes in our Collections Discovery Centre. With ample parking and an on-site café, you will find everything you need for a day out for the whole family.

 The Flying Fortress 

Situated in Ford and suitable for all ages, There are regular toddler workshops in dance, music and craft during term-time and always plenty to do in the holidays. This facility is a multi award-winning indoor children's activity centre with one of the most exciting playframes on the South Coast. Children just love the slides, the mangles, the monkey bars and mums and dads can have just as much fun as the kids! The Cafe serves great food too with plenty of healthy options!

Amberly Working Museum 

Suitable for all ages and opens from Feb half term. Located in the wonderful village of Amberly, just down the road from Chequers, Amberly Working Museum is a 36 acre open-air museum dedicated to the industrial heritage of the south-east. The museum contains a wide range of exhibits, ranging from transported-based collections, such as the Southdown bus collection and the village garage, to industry-based collections, such as the Print Workshop and Wheelwrights.
There is also a narrow gauge train running round the site.

Guildford Spectrum 

Situated in Guildford and is suitable for all ages. A plethora of activities are available at the Guildford spectrum including; Ice skating, 10 pin bowling, Swimming, Soft play, sports and athletics and are available for parties.

Leisure pool: The Leisure Pool is an exciting area with fun features including flumes, a tyre ride, bubble beds, sprays and a wave machine. You can also race your friends on the Surf, our 3 lane slide.

Spectrum Ice: Guildford Spectrum houses an Olympic sized ice rink which is used by thousands of people each week. Whether you are an experienced ice dancer or a wannabe Flames player, Spectrum Ice is available all year round for you!

Soft Play: Jump aboard Specky's Pirate Ship for a magic adventure on the high seas both above the waves and in the underwater world. Four storeys of soft play including ball pools, a trampoline, tube slide, cargo net and sky glide.... all designed to "shiver those timbers"!

Fishers Farm Park

Huxleys Birds of Prey Centre

Located in Horsham and is suitable for all ages. At the centre they have a wide range of birds from hawks to eagles, falcons to owls, and vultures to kites! They have around 70 birds in total all waiting to see you. They even have a few character birds such as Coco the Crested Caracara, Reaper the Raven and Sydney the Laughing Kookaburra! They have a special team of owls who take it in turns to meet and greet the public and 12noon and 2pm! They also have a fantastic flying team who love to show off in the 2:30pm display as well as at other various events and shows around the South of England.
Plus a gorgeous Japanese Water Garden.
