It’s the perfect place for our collection of vintage furniture and we hope you'll like it too when you come to visit!
John has been hard at work teaching our chef Paula some of his famous recipes including autumn mess winter pudding, a fantastic homemade curry (taking inspiration from numerous trips to India) and fresh locally sourced game in our pot of stew!
With winter clearly set in we've thoroughly enjoyed welcoming guests in to relax and cosy up by the original inglenook fire and imagine what it was like when it was a coaching inn back in 1548!
As beautiful autumn has ended it has turned in to an even more spectacular winter at Chequers Hotel (as you see from the shot below which our daughter took one morning before she headed out running last week in our back garden (the South Downs)!
There will be much more to come from us here at chequers including our new year’s walk and warming light lunch to blow away the cobwebs (17th January 2013 at 10am) so watch this space, pop in or give us a call.
I’m now off to prepare for a festive champagne and canapés reception for the local villagers...
Love Lissette and John x
